Just a mile and a half from Ingleton on the Hawes road is White Scar Cave, the longest show cave in England. The cave system was opened in 1925. Visitors are guided through a mile or more of cave system in a tour lasting some 80 minutes. The highlight of the tour is the 200,000 year old "Battlefield Cavern" which is over 300 feet long and 100 feet high in places. This is one of the largest caverns in Britain and contains thousands of delicate stalactites.
Whilst waiting for a tour to start you can visit the shop or the cafe. There is plenty of parking space.
