INGLEBOROUGH CAVE
in the Yorkshire Dales

Ingleborough Cave (discovered in 1837) is reached from Clapham village which is just off the A65 about four miles from Ingleton. Cave visitors walk about a mile from Clapham, through the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail, to the cave entrance. The cave visit comprises a 1Km journey with slopes but no steps along large, natural, passages full of interesting features, including "Queen Victoria's Bloomers"

Not far from the cave is Trow Gill Gorge, an impressive gorge. About 40 minutes energetic walking from the gorge is Gaping Gill, a pot hole with a 350ft drop into the main chamber.
